The fisherman returns with a vengeance to Southport in 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' trailer

A few weeks ago we got our first look at Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr in teaser photos for the new ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ film. Today, we got the first official trailer and got to see a glimpse of the duo back in Southport seemingly ready to fight the fisherman once more.

From the get-go, we get a kill from the titular fisherman with what looks to be a spear or harpoon which is a nice touch. We also got a first look at Helen Shivers grave to show that this is set in the same universe as the first film and will be a direct sequel. No word on whether or not Brandy will be returning but she has shown interest in coming back.

“When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. One year later, the past comes back to haunt them as they learn someone knows what they did last summer. Stalked by a mysterious killer, they soon seek help from two survivors of the legendary Southport massacre of 1997.”
