Watch 5 horror films to get you in the mood for Valloween
Whether you’re alone or spending it with someone you love, there’s always room for a good slasher to kick things into high gear! Valentine horror films are becoming more popular as of late, and with ‘Heart Eyes’ being added to that list, we’ve curated a few of our favorite “Romance” films to get you ready for a bloody good night.
‘Cherry Falls’ (2000)
“In the small town of Cherry Falls, a psychotic murderer is killing off the virgins of the local high school.”
This aughts slasher is a silly one with questionable dialogue and acting choices but has some charm. Brittany Murphy (RIP) is our final girl and kicks a lot of ass. It’s currently streaming on AMC+
‘The Loved Ones’ (2009)
“When Brent turns down his classmate Lola's invitation to the prom, she concocts a wildly violent plan for revenge.”
An Australian “love story” that’s got everything you could ever ask for! Blood, guts, gore a psychotic girl who won’t take no for an answer! Oh, and a weird father-daughter relationship that goes off the rails. It’s currently streaming on Paramount+
‘May’ (2002)
“A socially awkward veterinary assistant with a lazy eye and obsession with perfection descends into depravity after developing a crush on a boy with perfect hands.”
This is for all the awkward girlies out there who are too scared to ask out the person they like but be like May and go for it! The worst thing that will happen is you might be labeled a freak and the veterinary assistant at your job might try to make out with you, no biggie! It’s currently streaming on Vudu, Pluto and Fubo
‘Crimson Peak’ (2015)
“In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds - and remembers.”
Want to move to a GORGEOUS castle with Tom Hiddleston and his weird sister? Then have I got the movie for you. Oh, don’t forget Charlie Hunnam is also in this but we lose him after like 20 mins so ignore that. It’s currently streaming on Peacock
‘Life After Beth’ (2014)
“A young man's recently deceased girlfriend mysteriously returns from the dead, but he slowly realizes she is not the way he remembered her.”
Our final choice on this list is a fun zom rom com that is equally funny but also sad because you feel for Dane Dehaan after he loses his girlfriend and then when she comes back she isn’t the same person. It’s cute and a nice end to our romance list. It’s currently streaming on Kanopy
