New book by Anthony Lee Head features classic vampire

Creatures of the night beware, because Quincey Morris has his cross-hairs on you in the novel, Bloodbound: Quincey Morris and the Hunt for Dracula. This latest novel by Anthony Lee Head reimagines Bram Stoker’s story of the dark lord and pits him against his western straight shooter, Quincey Morris. It’s an adventure that blazes its way through mythology and romance within a gothic horror.

Quincey Morris was a child born from the love of African slaves and Celtic Warriors, forever set to belong to the world of men and spirits by a birthmark and trained in the ways of ancient Apache magic by his shaman godmother in the brutal frontier lands of Texas. Heir of many bloodlines and destined to hunt down the nameless evil with a Colt “Peacemaker” on the side of his hip and a fated Bowie knife on his belt, he will travel the world into darkness.

A desperate hunt in the cobblestone streets of Victorian London requires Quincey to face off against the nastiest evil he has encountered, the dark lord Count Dracula. He must endure with the help of aristocratic companions that sneer at his mixed heritage, because only Quincey possesses the spiritual awareness to reveal the vampire master’s true form. A beast in a conqueror’s cloak.

Within the danger that surrounds Quincey, he finds his soulmate Mina Harker, a married woman with a fiery spirit that is fueled by her intelligence. Their love defies the conventions of Victorian society. Only Quincey can lead the vampire hunters across Europe before Dracula snatches Mina into his eternal nightmare.

Bloodbound will unveil the story of a true hero against horror’s greatest legend. Quincey Morris treks the sun beat Texas plains to the bitter cold of the Transylvania Alps, where love and destiny collide.

Anthony Lee Head is the author of Bloodbound: Quincey Morris and the Hunt for Dracula. His book Driftwood: Stories from the Margarita Road won him the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Award for Best First Book and named one of Kirkus Reviews’ Best Books of the Year. Head lives with his wife, Cheri, and their rescue dogs in Northern California. He is working with Crystal Lake Publishing to release Bloodbound.
