Demon-possessed fans can stop spinning their heads as news for the upcoming revival of the new “Exorcist” movie has cast updates.

Scarlett Johansson (Her, Under the Skin, and Eight-Legged Freaks) will be joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor (Twelve Years a Slave, 2012, and Doctor Strange) in Blumhouse, Universal’sThe Exorcist.” Johansson will play the mom of actor Jacobi Jude’s (Before, Hamnet, and Peter Pan & Wendy) character, while Chiwetel will be playing an ex-con turned priest.

Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game) will be taking the roles of both writer and director, promising a “fresh and bold” take on the material. It won’t be a remake or a sequel, but Flanagan plans to still have it set in The Exorcist universe.
