Is Zach Cregger’s new film ‘Weapons’ connected to ‘Barbarian’ somehow?
“And they never came back…”
A chilling tagline and some teaser photos that tell us virtually nothing about this upcoming film, and we like it that way. Zach Cregger is most notably known for ‘The Whitest Kids You Know’ or, if you’re a younger reader, ‘Barbarian’ He’s become notorious in the horror genre and for good reason, he’s witty with his writing, his directorial debut was a smash hit with $45 million at the box office on a $4.5 million budget. Zach is also set to direct and write the newest ‘Resident Evil’ film.
There’s something strange going on in the town of Maywood, but their official news site is shedding some light…
“In response, a school gathering was held, where growing unease among parents became clear. As the town struggles to understand what happened, officials continue to urge the public for any leads, while Maybrook is left waiting for answers.”
The other interesting thing to note is the article linked below that talks about an “Underground Prison discovered in rental home.” and it has a picture of Tess from Zach’s previous film ‘Barbarian’ Could these two movies be set in the same universe or is Zach just toying with us and giving us fun easter eggs. Who’s to say you’ll have to watch the film to find out!
Weapons will be released in theaters on August 8, 2025.
