Nicolas Cage and Osgood Perkins are returning to the ‘Longlegs’ universe
The highest-grossing independent horror film of 2024, ‘Longlegs’, is getting a not-so-surprising follow-up, but it’s also moving from Neon to Paramount Pictures.
The reason for the move? The film’s budget exceeds Neon’s normal parameters, and Paramount Pictures, with its new studio leadership and its two on-the-lot production companies that focus solely on horror, is a better fit for Perkins.
Reported by THR earlier today, Osgood Perkins and Nicolas Cage are making a follow-up with Nicolas returning as both producer and star, and Perkins will be back in the director’s chair.
There’s no word on the story yet, even though Perkins has written the script, but we can report that the film will be “set in the ‘Longlegs’ Universe.”
The film earned a whopping $128 million worldwide on a small $10 million budget and became a smash hit overnight, becoming Neon’s highest-grossing domestic film.
