Catherine Corcoran and her company, Farestream Pictures, are partnering with Raindance Film Festival as an official ambassador

Catherine has been in the horror genre for decades, working with the likes of Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment and starring in the original ‘Terrifier’ film.

She has now been announced as the official ambassador for the Raindance Film Festival, held in London, UK, and it’s currently running until June 26th. The festival has been running since 1992 and has showcased the works of featured filmmakers for decades.

This year’s Horror Strand Feature Film titles consist of:

  • BROKEN BEAK (New Zealand/USA) International Premiere. After the murder of her uncle, a Māori photographer returns to New Zealand to claim her inheritance. Once home, she begins to have visions of a mythical monster, and as more family members die, she feels compelled to right an ancestral wrong.

  • CHILD (Luxembourg) World Premiere. First Feature. In an increasingly haunting atmosphere, a couple become willing to cross every boundary to save their dying child.

  • CORPORATE RETREAT (USA) UK Premiere. With a cast including Odeya Rush (Lady Bird), Sasha Lane (American Honey), Alan Ruck (Succession, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight) and Rosanna Arquette (Desperately Seeking Susan, Pulp Fiction), this horror-comedy sends a group of ambitious young executives on a luxury team-building escape that devolves into a brutal, blood-soaked fight for survival.

  • FRIDAY THE 69th (USA) UK Premiere. First Feature. Slasher-comedy paying tribute to the bottom-shelf horror films of the early ’80s. Porn filmmakers in 1981 aim to capitalize on the slasher trend by making their own independent ripoff about a group of spring breaking college coeds terrorized by a mysterious killer beekeeper.

  • JACKALOPE (USA) World Premiere. Two brothers take a quiet weekend retreat, which unravels into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with the arrival of an enigmatic woman.

  • LIFE FOR BEGINNERS (Poland). UK Premiere. First Feature. A shy vampire has one night to convince a suicidal vampire to embrace the idea of immortality.

  • MODEM (UK) World Premiere. A digital detox vacation goes wrong when a teenager discovers a modem that wakes a dormant, sadistic demon when connected to the Wi-Fi.

  • NAMELESS (Japan) European Premiere. The usual midday bustle is shattered by a mysterious indiscriminate murder—a bizarre crime committed without a weapon, and the motive is shrouded in mystery.

  • OCCUPY CANNES (USA) UK Premiere. Iconic director Lloyd Kaufman, creator of The Toxic Avenger, has been a staple of Cannes since 1971, sparking controversy and curiosity. Trey Parker, Matt Stone and James Gunn are Troma proteges you’ve heard of, and there are hundreds of other artists who have found a voice with the company. But, like thousands of species on this planet, Troma is at risk of going extinct. After 40 years of selling films at Cannes, the premiere of ‘Return to Nuke ‘Em High’ could be their final trip.

  • PINOCCHIO: UNSTRUNG (UK) UK Premiere. Starring horror film icon Robert Englund (Freddie Kruger in A Nightmare on Elm Street) as Jiminy Cricket, this dark coming-of-age reimagining of Pinocchio follows the iconic puppet's disturbing journey toward becoming real.

  • SACRIFICIOS (Mexico) European Premiere. A father kayaks out to sea and pulls his dead son from the water—impossible, breathing, alive. But the gods demand a price.

  • SERENA (USA) International Premiere. A down-on-his-luck former rock star becomes a beta tester for a revolutionary new chat bot named Serena—but who is testing who? Starring Andi Matichak (Halloween), Steven Strait (The Expanse), Ashleigh Murray (The Other Black Girl).

  • SHADOWS OF WILLOW CABIN (USA) UK Premiere. First Feature. Two men retreat to a remote cabin after meeting on a dating app. As their desire deepens, the forest closes in, the walls whisper, and ghosts take shape, forcing them to face the secrets they’ve spent a lifetime hiding.

  • THE DEVIL WHISPERED MY NAME (Argentina). UK Premiere. Carla returns to her hometown 10 years after the death of her friend in an ayahuasca ritual and confronts ancient malevolent forces and resurfaced part traumas.

  • THE HOME (Sweden) Joel reluctantly returns to his childhood home to help his mother, who has suffered a stroke and was clinically dead for minutes–but she is unrecognizable, and Joel becomes convinced that something has followed her back from the other side.

  • THE KILLING MOON (USA) International Premiere. A mysterious young man interrupts a wealthy couple’s lake vacation when he shows up wounded at the doorstep of their luxury cabin. Their decision to help kicks of a wild power struggle.

  • THE TREK (South Africa). UK Premiere. First Feature. In 1846, a Dutch-Afrikaans family and their British benefactor make the perilous journey across the Kalahari to claim a plot of land—and are stalked by something older and more merciless than the desert itself.

  • THE TROLL (USA) World Premiere. First Feature. TikTok superstar Killa B thrives on the adoration of millions—until a single cruel comment cuts too deep. Obsession takes hold as she tracks down the anonymous troll, infiltrating his life and destabilizing his family.

Raindance Film Festival expands its commitment to genre cinema with the launch of its dedicated horror programming slate and inaugural Best Horror Feature Award, actor, writer, producer and lifelong independent cinema advocate Catherine Corcoran has been named the festival’s Official Horror Ambassador in partnership with her production company, FareStream Pictures to help champion the initiative.

with a focus on under-represented voices while actively supporting emerging creatives across the horror community.

Working alongside Raindance, Corcoran and FareStream Pictures will help spotlight the festival’s growing horror initiative to amplify the festival’s genre presence through filmmaker advocacy, industry conversations, editorial initiatives and audience engagement, further strengthening Raindance’s position as a home for bold independent genre storytelling.

“Independent horror has always thrived by creating community first,” says Corcoran. “Raindance has spent decades championing fearless filmmakers and queer artists and I’m honored to help expand a platform that celebrates voices redefining the genre.”

The appointment comes as Raindance continues to expand its horror presence, introducing the Roger Corman Award for Best Horror Feature, showcasing an international lineup of boundary-pushing genre films alongside Raindance’s Icon Awards which was presented to actress Miriam Margolyes, SUCCESSION star Brian Cox, and iconic director Lloyd Kaufman, as part of its 34th edition.

With Corcoran and FareStream Pictures joining the initiative, Raindance’s new horror programming aims to foster greater collaboration between filmmakers, fans, and the global independent horror community while continuing to champion the next generation of genre voices. Raindance runs June 17-26, 2026 in central London.
