[EVENT REVIEW] Summer of Scream presented by: Night Frights LA, Los Angeles, California
I had the opportunity to creep around Summer of Scream presented by Night Fights LA and hosted at Angel City Brewery in LA and I was so excited because I’m such a huge Scream fan, it’s my favorite slasher franchise! They had plenty of photo ops, great vendors, BOOze, short film screenings, Lee Waddell - the original Ghostface, they also put all of the boys and ghouls knowledge of horror to the test with some trivia and gave away some slashing prizes and to top it all off they featured a showing of Scream. I found Angel City to have a great atmosphere and the event was so much fun, I would definitely attend more horror related events at their brewery.
There were plenty of seating areas which gave everyone a chance to cozy up when it was time to watch the short films and Scream, every part of the place was transformed into a frightful delight from having vendors in different areas which helped with booths not becoming too overcrowded to having screens throughout the brewery to expand the enjoyment of watching the featured films. Lee Waddell’s attendance was all treat and no trick! He kindly signed autographs and took pictures with fans slaying the scene just like he iconically did back in Woodsboro. The vendors truly invoked their creative spirits with their hauntingly amazing items, I personally purchased from a few vendors myself and I just love my new spooky goods thanks to Unwrapped Art, Morbid Kulture, and I even picked out a little gift from Spooky Baby Clothing for my niece which she absolutely loved.
I was very impressed by the set up done by room2party, their set was very fun with props for you to use in your photo which is a very thoughtful touch to make your picture something to scream about. You were also given the chance to take a picture with a cosplay Ghostface which made the experience more immersive and special. I was blown away by this event! I just love when the horror community gets together and makes the evening extra special for us horror fans and I highly recommend that fans of horror keep up with Night Fights and for the people who love beer check out Angel City Brewery in LA it’s definitely a cool place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks.
