Here are some FREE horror events and pop-ups at SDCC 2025!
San Diego Comic Con weekend is almost here, and there’s always a lot to do at the convention. But what about those who either can’t purchase a badge or simply want to enjoy the vibes? Well, luckily, there’s plenty to do outside of the convention and some awesome horror-themed pop-ups as well. Let’s break down what you can do for FREE!
Super7 is hosting a pop-up for Godzilla at their Gaslamp store located at 701 Eighth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. “Their storefront will be transformed into a recreation of the epic train attack moment from the film, with a Godzilla train entry way, destroyed set pieces, actual movie props, cosplayers, Kaiju Response Team staff, and exclusive merch to stomp your wallet into the ground.”
The pop-up Godzilla Station will be open:
Wednesday, July 23: 7pm-close
Thursday, July 24: 10am-8pm
Friday, July 25: 10am-8pm
Saturday, July 26: 10am-8pm
Sunday, July 27: 10am-7pm
You can also meet ‘Shin Godzilla’ director Shinji Higuchi on Friday, July 25 at 11am PT. The signing is LIMITED to 50 people, and will be available to the first 50 people on Friday. Super7 will distribute wristbands, with no lining up before 10am.
Shudder is offering a ‘Clown in a Cornfield’ Experience on Thursday, July 24th to Saturday July 26th from 12pm-8pm at Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, 401 K St, San Diego, CA 92101 Tickets are SOLD OUT but there will be a standby line for those brave enough to wait out the horrors of Frendo.
“Inspired by IFC Entertainment Group’s smash hit film CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD, which makes its streaming debut on Shudder and AMC+ on August 8, Comic-Con attendees get a chance to test their mettle and evade Frendo on his cornfield home turf. The fan experience will immerse attendees within settings from the film, beginning in the town square during the Founders Day parade, which gives way to a corn maze. Once through the maze, a refuge and celebration for “survivors” awaits with the Shudder Survivors Party, featuring photo opps., games and giveaways. “
The event is free and not recommended for children under 13. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian 18+.
Tired of walking during SDCC weekend? Pennywise-inspired pedicabs will be offering FREE rides during the convention weekend to promote ‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ coming out this October exclusively on HBO MAX.
