Firefly family getting 4K Ultra HD box set

Rob Zombie's Firefly family is getting the full collector's treatment this October.

Lionsgate is releasing Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy Collector’s Edition on Oct. 13, 2026, bringing House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and 3 From Hell together in an eight-disc collection.

Rob Zombie made his feature-film directorial debut with House of 1000 Corpses, released in 2003 after experiencing a famously difficult road to theaters. The movie introduced the Firefly family through a bizarre mixture of grindhouse horror, black comedy, psychedelic imagery, and the influence of films such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

It is chaotic, dirty, colorful, violent, and completely committed to being a Rob Zombie movie.

Even early in his filmmaking career, Zombie had a recognizable identity. House of 1000 Corpses is not a perfect movie, but more than twenty years later, people are still talking about this one.

Zombie returned to the Fireflies with The Devil’s Rejects in 2005, but instead of simply making the first movie again, he completely changed the approach. The carnival-like nightmare became a gritty seventies-inspired road movie centered around Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding.

Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie, and the late Sid Haig completely own these characters. Haig in particular turned Captain Spaulding into a legitimate horror icon, while Moseley's Otis became increasingly terrifying once Zombie stripped away some of the exaggerated insanity surrounding him.

Then came 3 From Hell in 2019. Released fourteen years after The Devil’s Rejects, the third movie brought the surviving Fireflies back for another run. Unfortunately, Sid Haig's declining health meant Captain Spaulding could only have a limited role, with Richard Brake's Winslow Foxworth Coltrane joining Otis and Baby for the majority of the movie.

Lionsgate is putting quite a bit into the box.

The eight-disc Collector’s Edition includes the three films across 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, with the unrated versions of The Devil’s Rejects and 3 From Hell included on Blu-ray. The set also digs into the history of the trilogy with documentaries, behind-the-scenes material, legacy special features, a photography book curated by Zombie, art cards, a collectible poster, and new artwork from Vance Kelly.

For longtime fans, the biggest news is the arrival of House of 1000 Corpses on 4K Ultra HD for the first time.

Physical-media collectors have had plenty of opportunities to own these movies over the years, so putting them into another box would not have been enough. Giving the movie that started everything its first 4K release makes this collection considerably more interesting.
