Las Vegas Haunt staple, Freakling Bros., pause their 2026 Haunt season opening
For over 30 years, Freakling Bros. has been the only R-Rated haunt in Las Vegas, and director JT Mollner has to step away this year for another amazing opportunity.
“Scaring Las Vegas has been a passion project for my family for more than 30 years and while Halloween won’t be the same, we’ve made the difficult decision to step away for the season, so I can fully commit to my next film.”
Mollner is directing a new horror film, ‘Skeletons,’ and it’s taking up a good chunk of his time, which is why he decided to put a pause on Freakling Bros. haunt season. The film is a modern take on the creature feature from the perspective of a young boy.
The film is being produced by J.J. Abrams and stars Brie Larson. The entire family is also on board with the film since the production schedule runs through Haunt Season. Duke Mollner, JT’s father, who is also a co-founder of the haunt, will have a supporting role in the film, and Ginnie, JT’s mother, is writing an original song for the film.
Fret not; the haunt will return in 2027! The three-haunt lineup is as follows;
Gates of Hell — Nevada’s first and only R-rated haunt, introduced in 2011.
COVEN of 13 — the witches-and-black-magic haunt running since 2015.
The Nest — an all-new haunt that replaces the long-running Castle Vampyre. It was originally planned for 2026 and now debuts with the 2027 return.
“While we were excited to unveil our new haunt, we know there are only so many scares to go around,” Mollner said. “Our fans and longtime production team deserve the full Freakling Bros. experience, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in 2027 for the next chapter of fear.”
