Live Oak Canyon debuts a brand new haunt, The Hollow Haunted Maze
After 45 years running Southern California’s largest pumpkin patch, Live Oak Canyon in Redlands is opening its first-ever haunted maze this October. It is called The Hollow, and it takes over the farm after dark on weekends from October 2 through October 31, 2026. As the farm’s own tagline for the event puts it, “You know the farm. You don’t know The Hollow.”
The Hollow is a corn maze path threaded through tented rooms with live scare actors — a hybrid of the farm’s existing corn-maze footprint and a full-cast walk-through haunt. Live Oak Canyon has framed the concept as the land itself waking up each October: “Something has been here longer than the farm. Each October, something stirs beneath the canyon floor. The land you know transforms. The paths shift.”
The maze is recommended for guests 16 and older. The daytime pumpkin patch continues to run for families as it always has; The Hollow takes over the after-dark hours.
The Hollow’s haunt supervisor is Philip-Blaine Adsit, a Southern California haunt-industry veteran with real credentials the local haunt community will recognize. Adsit co-founded Hauntington Beach Manor in Orange County (now closed) and has worked on Knott’s Scary Farm, Sinister Pointe, and 17th Door — three of the region’s most respected haunt operators. Live Oak Canyon brought him in to build The Hollow from the ground up.
The Hollow runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from October 2 through October 31, 2026, plus select weeknights to be announced. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. and last entry is at 11:00 p.m., with the maze running until midnight. Peak nights open later. Closing night is Halloween.
Admission is at the gate only — no advance tickets and no online sales. Every guest pays farm admission, then adds a separate maze ticket. Cash and card are both accepted.
The at-the-gate model is a deliberate choice on Live Oak Canyon’s part and one that consumers should plan for: if you have never been to the farm, budget extra time on arrival for the ticket purchase, and expect the peak nights (mid- to late October) to run past their posted hours.
