OC Fright Nights are bringing two new experiences to Huntington Beach, California

This past weekend at Midsummer Scream, we had a chance to speak to OC Fright Nights, 3 friends who started building a haunted house in their backyard one year ago and decided to expand into the professional haunt industry.

“From dorm room idea to creating some From dorm room idea to creating some of Orange County's most highly anticipated Halloween events. Discover the story of how two college students turned a passion for scares into a beloved seasonal tradition.”

After two years of hard work, Nolan, Srihas, and Cameron are hoping to create something that will not only be unique but also something the entire community can enjoy.

For 2026, Oc Fright Nights has partnered with Playground Mini Golf in Huntington Beach, California, to bring us two unique events.

The Phantom Tavern: Haunted Speakeasy

Set in 1926, this speakeasy has been frozen in time for 100 years on Halloween Night, and the doors have finally reopened. This October, you can experience the mysteries and try to uncover what exactly happened all those years ago.

The Haunted Speakeasy is an interactive, immersive bar experience. Guests will step into a bar frozen in 1926, grounded in real Oil Boomtown-era Huntington Beach history.

Guests will be seated inside this speakeasy and are able to order drinks, food, and snacks. Expect special room-activations surrounding the chilling story of how the bar was haunted, including flashing lights, audio jumps, and live actors.

Our attraction is theatrical, but slow-paced, designed to fully immerse you in the story and characters of The Phantom Tavern the fateful night it was cursed in time.

As of current, no reservation is required for The Phantom Tavern: walk-ins are welcome. Seating is first come, first served. Space inside is limited, so arriving at or shortly before 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays is recommended. Arrive extra early on Halloween!

You can experience The Phantom Tavern and Halloween Mini Golf Arcade on October 2nd through Halloween Night at PlaygroundHB, 300 Pacific Coast Hwy #112, Huntington Beach CA 92648.
