Pumpkinhead sequel coming to Tubi

R.L. Stine continues to terrorize audiences with his uniquely spooky and comedic writing with the help of Tubi. The author’s Pumpkinhead was such a smash hit for the streaming service “Terror on Tubi” last year that they green-lighted a sequel set to release this October.

The story will return to Redhaven, the cursed Appalachian town. Evan is a student who is plagued by bullies who accidentally opens a spell book that releases sacrificed pumpkin headed children on to the town’s Harvest Festival. The last salvation of the community falls on an outcast witch with a desire to destroy the ancient evil book.

"Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without a good story about kids being trapped inside a pumpkin. I’m so happy that we are going to have another pumpkin head adventure on Tubi," says R.L. Stine.

The first film was based off of a short story within the horror anthology Nightmare Hour. Adam Lewinson, Tubi chief content officer, says, “Given the breakout success of Pumpkinhead, we’re going deeper into this mythology,” Pumpkinhead 2 will exclusively debut on Tubi October 2026. It’ll be directed and written by the returning Jem Garrard (Slay).
