Rebellion gives gameplay peek of Alien Deathstorm
Rebellion has released a new gameplay trailer for Alien Deathstorm, giving a closer look at the upcoming sci-fi horror game and one of its missions, appropriately called the Reactor.
The mission takes place around the middle of the game and sends players into a malfunctioning fission reactor that needs to be brought back online. Playing as an engineer investigating an isolated off-world colony, you’ll need to diagnose and repair multiple faults while dealing with a massive planetary storm outside and increasingly aggressive alien creatures inside.

The new footage also gives us a better idea of how Alien Deathstorm will balance combat with the engineer’s actual job. Players will have access to weapons including a pistol, SMG and shotgun, while blueprints can be used to create upgrades through three-dimensional printing. Your hammer doubles as both a repair tool and melee weapon, with other equipment including grenades, flares, health injectors and a Geiger Scanner capable of detecting nearby threats.
Rebellion has currently revealed four alien types: Soldiers, Scuttlers, Blister Scuttlers and Scuttler Swarms, with additional creatures still to come. According to the developer, enemies will dynamically adapt to situations and player behavior rather than simply relying on predetermined encounters, potentially making repeated trips through the colony considerably less predictable.
The Deathstorm itself is another major part of the danger. The massive storm continues tearing through the colony as you explore, making exposed areas hazardous and forcing players between the environmental threat outside and the aliens waiting within the facility. It's a simple setup that could work particularly well for keeping players from ever feeling completely safe.

The Reactor trailer gives Alien Deathstorm a clearer identity than its initial reveal, showing a game that mixes traditional first-person shooting with exploration, engineering tasks and survival horror rather than relying entirely on combat. Rebellion still has plenty left to reveal, including additional alien types, but we're starting to get a much better idea of what surviving this colony will actually involve.
Alien Deathstorm is currently scheduled for Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a day-one release on Game Pass.
