'Robocop' reboot finds its home at Amazon Prime

TV

Peter Ocko and James Wan were at the forefront of the new ‘Robocop’ TV series when it was announced in 2024 by Deadlinebut there haven’t been many updates regarding the series.

Today, we found out that Amazon MGM Studios has reportedly given the go-ahead for the series to move forward but there’s no word on whether Ocko or Wan will be involved in the series any longer.

The announcement was buried inside an The Ankler article about Amazon’s upcoming properties for the upcoming year.

This new series is set to follow the premise of the films, focusing on a giant tech conglomerate which collaborates with the local police department to introduce a technologically advanced enforcer to combat rising crime — a police officer who’s part man, part machine.

We haven’t seen ‘Robocop’ grace our screens since the 2014 remake with Joel Kinnaman as the titular character. The film earned $242 million on a $130 million dollar budget.

A TV series could be a step in the right direction to give our beloved Robocop some love again.
