Silverlake Scream Show Vol. 5 is ready to rise from the grave
Kicking off Spooky Season with Silverlake Scream Show Silverlake Scream Show, a nonprofit supporting emerging horror filmmakers in Los Angeles, is gearing up for its fifth year with a first of its kind grassroots Kickstarter campaign geared towards funding not one but SEVEN singular horror visionaries as they work to create seven spine-tingling horror short films.
But it doesn’t stop there. Once these shorts are produced, they’re tied together into a single theatrical, feature-length anthology package that is screened in front of a crowd of hungry horror fanatics. This year’s 5th Anniversary World Premiere screening event is set to take place on October 24th, 2026 at MICA Studios located in the iconic arts district of downtown Los Angeles.
Silverlake Scream Show is built on the foundation of providing young, emerging filmmakers an opportunity to get their voices heard in an environment outside of both the traditional studio pipeline and the competitive film festival circuit.
This year’s cohort of seven filmmakers were hand-picked from a crop of over 100 applications and vetted based on parameters of originality, produceability, and thematic alignment with the year’s central theme.
What began as a backyard Halloween screening has evolved into a full-fledged 501(c)3 non-profit organization complete with educational screening events throughout the year featuring established filmmakers like Zach Cregger, (Barbarian, Weapons), Patrick Brice (Creep), and Josh Ruben (Scare Me, Heart Eyes).
The community, which has received support from the likes of established Hollywood filmmakers including Mark Duplass, Scott Derrickson, and Christopher Landon, continues to grow daily as the Scream Show brand builds. With a focus on inclusivity, passion, and transparency, Silverlake Scream Show strives to break down barriers of traditional Hollywood and establish a new community-based era of the cinema experience.
6/27/26 UPDATE: Silverlake Scream Show has hit their inital $10,000 goal! Now they need help getting their stretch goals to fully fund all 7 short films.
