‘THE BRIDE’ (2026) will hit theaters in IMAX this March
When it’s released next month, Maggie Gyllenhaal's upcoming film “The Bride!” will mark an exciting first for the director: IMAX.
Shot with IMAX-certified digital cameras, “The Bride!” includes 72 minutes of IMAX’s 1.90:1 and 1.43:1 exclusive Expanded Aspect Ratio (EAR), totaling nearly half of its runtime.
Part of the Filmed for IMAX® program, Gyllenhaal worked closely with IMAX throughout the entire filmmaking process, including conducting multiple camera tests, reviewing footage at IMAX headquarters, and leveraging IMAX’s Expanded Aspect Ratios to support storytelling.
The film has been enhanced frame by frame with IMAX’s proprietary Digital Media Remastering (DMR) technology to provide unprecedented detail and clarity and features a dedicated sound mix optimized specifically for IMAX theatres.
The film tells the tale of Frankenstein’s monster (Christian Bale) who seeks creation of a companion (Jessie Buckley), resulting in a union full of romance and murder.
“The Bride!” is scheduled to release March 6. It is rated R.
