The final Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood house has been announced: Killceañera!
Lola is a disfigured orphan who lost her parents in a house fire during Día de los Muertos. She’s been bullied her whole life and is now seeking revenge on those who wronged her. Her Quinceañera “court of Dishonor” consists of her tormentors from all those years ago.
The house description reads: “The fiesta de quince años, more popularly known as quinceañera, is normally a time for fifteen-year-old girls to celebrate their rite of passage from childhood to adulthood,” John Murdy stated, “but not for Lola.” Lola is an orphan disfigured in a fire that killed her parents at their home “during the height of the festival of Dia de los Muertos,” on November 2nd, which is also her birthday, ten years ago. Bullied and called a monster, she found refuge in her parents’ stories of “vengeful ghosts, malevolent spirits and fearsome monstruos,” which “became an all-consuming obsession.”
Each candle represents a victim from Lola’s past, and the tagline for the house is “no one will get out of it alive”
Slash and Murdy collaborated on “15 Candles,” an original song for the Latin American house that Lola will sing during her celebration.
Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood begins on September 3rd and runs through November 1st.
