Warner bros. Reunites Flanagan & King for new adaptation of “The Mist”
It looks like the future is foggy for Stephen King fans.
“The Mist” is making its return to the big screen, with King and Mike Flanagan teaming up to produce a new telling of the praised cosmic horror novella.
Not only will Flanagan direct, he will also write the screenplay. Warner Bros will distribute the film along with Flanagan’s own production company, Red Room.
“The Mist” is one of the short stories in King’s 1985 collection, “The Skeleton Crew.” In 1980, the town of Bridgton, Maine, is engulfed by a thick pale fog. David Dayton is trapped inside a grocery store with his son Billy. The outside mist shrouds the horror outside, but desperation reveals the monsters we call neighbors.
Fans can prime themselves with the previous film adaptation “The Mist” (2007) and the TV series “The Mist” (2017).
