New York City's nastiest new play: Swinewomb is taking you to some dark places

From the streets of New York comes a new show from the mind of Reese Villella, who has produced several short films and theatrical shows. The latest short they produced was ‘Helene’“Years after surviving a traumatic assault, a sexually repressed woman's attempt at intimacy with her boyfriend triggers a grotesque transformation.”

Swinewomb, a psychosexual horror play by Reese Villella, returns to New York City this August at The West End Theatre NYC, following a sold-out Brooklyn premiere in December last year.

Set in the small, God-fearing town of Caleb’s Rest, Swinewomb follows siblings Shiloh and Ellis as they grieve the deaths of their parents: Shiloh through a spiraling affair with her teenage sweetheart, and Ellis through violent outbursts and secret visits to a banished herbalist rumored to practice witchcraft. Meanwhile, something old and demonic begins to fester inside Shiloh… and it wants out.

Blending Southern Gothic storytelling with psychosexual and body horror, Swinewomb is an unapologetically provocative, female-centered play that rejects purity politics and embraces the monstrous, the profane, and the unspeakable.

Produced by Mother Of, the August production reunites key members of the original creative team, with Reese Villella directing, Jacksyn Ivy Jayne serving as Assistant Director, and William Owen (Search for What I Left) as Production Manager and Projection Designer. Julia Ordway will be returning as Shiloh, Carter Williams as Ellis, and Ricky Bizzaro as Lem, with Mincy Barbosa and Juan Lopez joining the cast as Maude and Baalrath, respectively.
