[HAUNT REVIEW] Knotts Scary Farm

Celebrating 50 YEARS OF KNOTTS SCARY FARM what better way than by going with a group of friends to get scared, say goodbye to some mazes, hello to the new ones and get scared by friends and monsters alike. Scary Farm has been part of my life since I was 12 years old when I first went and there’s a warm feeling walking down the boardwalk being yelled at by clowns or going through the foggy streets of Ghostown or saying hello to the king and queen of the gauntlet there’s something for everyone. This year was obviously special because after being around for 50 years of scares you weren’t sure what to expect!

Sarah Marshall was back and causing havoc on the good people of scary farm but she wasn’t alone, oh no, she had her trusty conductor by her side roaming the park. Everyone fears and loves her. If you wanted a quick drink you could grab a Devil’s Elixir in the Goreing 20’s but make sure those prohibitionists didn’t catch you because they would talk your ear off about it. You might run into the clowns who were always up to their crazy antics whether it was chasing people with fish toys, biting ankles or even riding Hang Ten when they had some downtime.

Forsaken Lake had the usual suspects who not only roasted me and my friends but also made sure to look devastatingly gorgeous while doing so! The Gauntlet was in the running for our favorite scare zone because the misty fog wasn’t only home to monsters and royalty but also The Chilling Chambers which was Knott’s Scary Farms first maze back in 1973 and this year they showcased previous mazes that are mourned but not forgotten.

Cinema Slasher was our favorite maze of the entire event and for good reason. You’re immersed inside a movie theater where ushers and final girls are running around warning you that the movie is about to start or there’s a killer on the loose. It’s every horror fans dream! Hands down the most popular maze by far and for good reason

The rest of the night was spent walking around the scare zones, enjoying our one night in the park and being reminded how lucky we are to have a special place like Knotts Scary Farm so close by and full of horror. I cannot wait until next year and I hope to scare you there…
