Son of Monsterpalooza
Usher in the Halloween season with SON OF MONSTERPALOOZA! Monsterpalooza’s offshoot event returning to The Marriott Burbank Convention Center October 13-15, 2023!
After a successful trial run on the East Coast in 2008, Monsterpalooza made its West Coast debut in 2009. Ever since, MONSTERPALOOZA has become internationally known as the place to be for fans and professionals of film, makeup, special effects, collectible toys, art and monsters! With increased demand for more monstrous Monsterpalooza fun, Son of Monsterpalooza was born in 2012 to fill the fall void for monster lovers and fans of Monsterpalooza’s past!
Meet award winning artists behind some of the greatest creatures ever created with a selection of over 150 exhibitors selling one of a kind creations, LIVE makeup demonstrations and more!
Each Son of Monsterpalooza event features dozens of special celebrity guests from the worlds of Horror, Science Fiction, and Fantasy. Past guests have included actors from film franchises such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, The Omen, Phantasm, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Day of the Dead and MANY MORE!
Every year in the Son of Monsterpalooza Theatre, unique panels and presentations are featured all weekend long spotlighting fan favorite films from the past and future featuring the stars, directors, and artists responsible for bringing your worst nightmares to life on the silver screen and beyond!
Son of Monsterpalooza is a fan friendly event that finishes off the year and ushers in the Halloween season with eye popping exhibits, creators and innovators, products, art and collectibles – You never know who you will bump into on the show floor!

Halloween 45 Years of Terror
This year marks the 45th anniversary of John Carpenter‘s game-changing horror classic Halloween, and BD has learned that the special event Halloween: 45 Years of Terror is set to take over Pasadena, California, from September 29th through October 1st, 2023!
Every five years since 2003, fans from the Halloween franchise have traveled across the globe to celebrate one of the most endearing, imposing, and enduring horror movie franchises of all time. John Carpenter’s Halloween premiered in cinemas and on drive-in screens 45 years ago, changing the landscape of horror cinema forever
For this special anniversary convention event, the Producer of the Halloween Franchise, Trancas International Films, is once again teaming up with Sean Clark (who helped organize the Halloween conventions with the 25th anniversary in 2003, as well as the 30th (2008), 35th (2013), and 40th (2018)
HorrorHound Ltd. also returns after having helped put on the successful H40 event in 2018. HorrorHound Ltd. are responsible for the Midwest events, HorrorHound Weekend, which aim to deliver what is sure to be the largest Halloween convention to date
Celebrity guests (including directors, stars, and crew) from all thirteen Halloween films are set to be in attendance as H45 takes over the Pasadena Convention Center
The team previews, “We expect the largest selection of vendors any prior “Terror” convention has provided, including notable Halloween licensees and some of the most notable artists in the ever-growing gallery scene – there will be a number of not-to-be-missed events, including the highly anticipated return of the Horror’s Hallowed Grounds filming location tour, galleries, exciting social media photo displays, cast Q&As, lots of exclusive H45 and Halloween merchandise offerings, and professional photo opportunities
