[CONVENTION REVIEW] Gathering of the Ghouls
Despite the weather being 117 all weekend that wasn’t going to stop all the ghouls and goblins from attending GATHERING OF THE GHOULS in Mesa, Arizona. I first heard about this event through a year round horror shop called Terror Trader which specializes in everything and anything horror. They have an oddities room that is definitely haunted, small businesses from all over the Arizona area and classes to create your own Crites, Killer Klowns, and much much more. I was invited out to their first ever Convention and after making the 6 1/2 hour drive my boyfriend and I were ready to take on the day!

For being the first year they host a horror convention of this size is a monumental feat. They were able to conjure up 100 spooky vendors, Q&A sessions for some indie films, panels, film screenings and of course celeb meet & greets, along with specialty photo-ops and a quick walkthrough of a haunt called Sanctum of Horror. Terror Trader is run by Gina & Jason the Founders and Owners of the brick & mortar and while they’ve done smaller events in the past but this one truly takes the cake. I was astounded by how many people showed up on a Sunday afternoon for spooky goodness! Both days however were jam packed with things to do, cosplayers to pose with and celebs to meet. They even offered a Terrifier 2 bedroom photo-op which I opted out of because NO THANKS! ;)

I’m already making plans to visit Gathering of the Ghouls next year and maybe I’ll pop by their Christmas event A Christmas to Dismember where you can meet Felissa Rose & Dave Sheridan!
