A Fear-Filled Weekend at Spooky Empire!
Last weekend we were so excited to experience Spooky Empire - a horror-themed convention celebrating the dark side of fandom! Featuring a selection of expert panels, celebrity meet and greets, live entertainment (including a fun haunted attraction), unique vendors, and gory SFX demonstrations; Spooky Empire is a creepy way to spend a weekend with friends and family.
We were so thrilled to be invited to attend the Halloween season Spooky Empire event and experience their fearful programs and activities. I can’t wait to tell you all about our time at the convention. Thank you, Spooky Empire, for inviting us out!

Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the awesome activities and events at last weekend’s Spooky Empire convention!
Expert Panels
A featured piece of any convention weekend, Spooky Empire is FILLED with special expert panels from horror movie makers, professional paranormal investigators, celebrities, and other spooky specialists. Some of the event’s highlights included a Q&A with Kiefer Sutherland (The Lost Boys, 24), a panel discussion with some of the stunt performers from Five Nights at Freddy’s, and the informative Ghost Hunting 101! There’s a session for every attendee, no matter their interest area or expertise.
Live Entertainment
Throughout the weekend, we were able to enjoy a variety of live entertainment including the classical musicians of Violectric, aerialist performers, spooky-inspired burlesque shows and, of course, the much anticipated Costume Contest!
The Carving Haunted Attraction
Presented by Studio 1031, The Carving Haunted Attraction offered an authentic haunted house experience - right on the convention floor! We ADORED our walk through these spooky pumpkins, live performers, and detailed sets.
Special FX Demonstrations
Throughout the weekend, makeup artists, filmmakers, and others could attend special FX make up demonstrations. These presentations taught attendees how to create delightfully gory effects and stunning, horror-inspired looks.
The Vendor Hall
Like any good convention, Spooky Empire included a vast vendor hall brimming with a variety of artisans, independent films, tarot card readers, special effects creators, and more! We had such a great time chatting with these professionals and learning about their craft.
Final Thoughts: Spooky Empire
Wow! What an amazing weekend full of fear, gore, and mayhem! I ADORED all of the fascinating panels, live entertainment, and horror-centric fun. If you love all things scary, you MUST check out Spooky Empire!
